Our mission

Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition for Young Artists is located in the heart of the Midwest in Carmel, Indiana, USA. Our mission is to recognize and nurture young and talented pianists. The competition allows pianists to reach their greatest potential by providing performance opportunities at a renowned concert venue. We offer educational masterclasses, lessons and workshops led by leading international pianists and pedagogues. Our biggest contribute is to the prosperity of arts in the City of Carmel and surrounding communities

Our venues

The Palladium

The Palladium is a beautifully designed Concert Hall with 1,600-seats and exceptional acoustics. Steinway grand pianos are used for the competition on stage. 

The Studio Theater

With a seated capacity of 200, the Studio Theater’s flexible black box design offers multiple seating and stage configurations to suit a variety of intimate musical and theatrical productions. It is located in the same building as the Tarkington, across the Center Green from the Palladium and adjacent to the Center Parking Garage.

  • Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition for Young Artists was founded in 2014.
  • Since the start the event welcomed 972 contestants.
  • At least 85% of participants go home with some kind of prize.
  • Around 200 volunteers are supporting the event bringing the community together.
  • Our total monetary prizes increased from $6,500 in 2014 to almost $20,000 in recent years.
    Past non-monetary awards:
    – Full scholarship for a bachelor’s degree at Asian Art College in Chengdu China
    – Scholarship from Indiana Wesleyan University
